Seattle photographer David Jaewon Oh has been taking pictures ever since he could pick up a camera. The 34-year-old Oh started out as almost any shutterbug, taking photos of city skylines, nature scenes, and whatever moved his soul during his time as a student at the University of Washington, from which he graduated in 2009. Then one day a walk into a gym captured his imagination.
"Back in the early 2000s, I spent some time at boxing gyms. Combat sports for women were still at their infancy then. But my first trainer was a woman, in fact." Oh says he noticed that the training regimens of the women he saw wearing gloves always rivaled that of men, even though at the time few were competing.
