It is entirely possible that to UFC fans, Bruce Buffer is the most recognizable announcer in the history of combat sports, let alone MMA. The man has been the voice of the UFC since 1997 (at least in a full-time capacity), and many fans agree that the UFC wouldn’t be the same without him.


It might surprise some people to know that Bruce Buffer has his own dedicated fanbase thanks to his presence in the UFC and elsewhere around the world. With some of the most die-hard fans out there, Bruce Buffer has managed to craft a unique legacy in the world of MMA. There’s plenty that fans of the UFC and Bruce Buffer may not know about the iconic announcer, and it’s not an understatement to say that there’s plenty that’s likely to surprise people.


10. Black Belt In Tang Soo Do

Whether fans have thought about it or not, Bruce Buffer is quite the fan of MMA. Since he’s had an interest in MMA since he was young, Buffer has managed to obtain a 2nd-degree black belt in the historic Korean martial art known as Tang Soo Do.


While many may not know much about Tang Soo Do, it is actually based on Karate, subak, and Chinese martial arts. While Buffer was actually a competitive kickboxer in his use, it’s entirely possible he used his Tang Soo Do knowledge while sparring against the likes of Royce Gracie.
