While World Wrestling Entertainment and its fans were still treating women’s wrestling poorly, in the late 2000s Impact Wrestling (formerly known as TNA) was putting North American women’s wrestling back on the map. The brand new Knockouts Division of that period was delivering some really great bouts -- especially for the time -- with special distinction given to the inaugural title feud between Gail Kim and Awesome Kong.
While over the years Impact has been defined by its blunders of the past, the promotion and its Knockouts division are still going strong today.
